Hey Everybody,
Welcome to my Zambia!! blog. This coming May, I will be traveling with 14 other people to London for three days and then to the African country of Zambia for 2 and a half weeks. While over there, I will be studying the local plants and animals, mainly doing research work on common ungulates such as antelope, giraffe, and buffalo.
In London we will see several historical places such as the Museum of Natural Sciences, the British Geological Society, and the resting places of both Charles Darwin and Dr. Livingstone. Hopefully we will also be able to spend a little time on our own taking in the English culture over a spot of tea.

We will be staying in several places over there, starting off in the capital of Lusanka. From there, we travel to the southern town of Livinstone, home of one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls. From there, we travel to Kasanka National Park to camp out among the wild animals of the African country. Finally, we will spend about 4 days in South Luangwa National Park at Flat Dogs Camp (a flat dog is slang over there for crocodile). While there, we once again will be sleeping outside, raised about a foot and a half off the ground in order that the elephants and hippos that roam through the camp at night do not step on our tent.

We will be leaving on May 17th for London and by going to the course website, you will be able to see pictures of where we will be going as well as a countdown to departure.

I will have internet access at some places in Zambia so be sure to check back here, as I will be hopefully uploading pictures as our trip continues.

Zikomo,
Allan
